U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Malaysia on October 26, marking the first stop of his Asia tour. Stepping off Air Force One, Trump greeted supporters with his trademark fist-pump dance, a gesture that became symbolic during his 2024 election campaign.
During his visit, the president is attending the 47th ASEAN Summit, held from October 26 to 28 in Kuala Lumpur. The summit gathers leaders from across Southeast Asia to discuss regional security, trade, and peace initiatives.
While in Malaysia, Trump is also expected to witness the signing of a ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, a deal he has previously said he helped mediate.
Following the ASEAN meetings, Trump will travel to Japan and South Korea. His Asia tour will conclude on October 30 with a high-level meeting in Seoul, where he is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump said he is open to reaching a new trade agreement with China, though he indicated that he may leave Asia without finalizing a deal.
