The United States and Israel have launched major strikes on targets across Iran, marking a sharp escalation in Middle East tensions. US President Donald Trump said the attacks aim to remove what he called “imminent threats” from the Iranian regime.
According to the analysis, the strikes targeted nuclear facilities, missile infrastructure, radar sites, and parts of Iran’s military command. Experts warn that this is not a limited exchange. Instead, it could become a long and dangerous conflict with high costs for civilians.
Chatham House experts say Iran is likely to widen the conflict rather than contain it. They also warn that military pressure may weaken the regime, but it does not guarantee political change or stability inside Iran.
